Everyone knows how much pleasure can be gained by looking back at our favourite photographs – from happy family holidays on a beach to memorable nights out and parties with good friends.

The Liverpool Women’s Hospital have used photography in a unique and exciting way to help terminally ill patients treated in their Mulberry Suite recapture times when they felt stronger and healthier.

With £40,000 of joint funding from the Kings Trust and the Department of Health, the hospital created a purpose-built palliative care environment that promotes well-being as well as providing families with the comfort, dignity and privacy they deserve. However the internal build was only part of the job – they also built a huge external hoarding where an enormous woodland image was created which could be seen through the windows. Patients are now treated to a beautiful scene rather than a tired building courtyard.

We are delighted to support such a worthwhile project by donating the image (above) free of charge, knowing that so many patients and their families will find the image a perfect way to remember good times.
